Al-Kawthar University is an idea born out of necessity. A fraternity of seasoned educationists with international exposure, who felt there were a lot of gaps to be bridged with regard to the objectives and methods of education, the environment, and the quality of the end product (the graduates), came together to offer a platform where truly educated personalities and accomplished teachers may be developed.

Asim Ismail, a single person, started Alwasila with small-scale loans, health care, and help for the community. But now, it is a well-known trust that is the parent organization of seven other charitable groups. AlWasila works on projects in finance, health, community outreach, and managing disaster relief, among others. The AlWasila Trust was made to break the cycle of poverty, make it easier for poor people to get by financially, help people live with pride, and spread happiness. The AlWasila Trust raised more than 30 million rupees, which is used to help 18000 people with basic needs and adopt 88 families by giving them housing, food, and loans to get started.

To keep the teaching and learning processes in line with current International trends and practices, Al-Kawthar University has a clear plan to establish collaboration with reputable Institutions of the world. An MOU has already been signed between Al-Kawthar University and Markfield Institute of Higher Education, Leicestershire, England. This MOU will facilitate academic and educational cooperation between the two institutions in the areas of teacher training, student exchange and joint research.
Al - Kawthar is the only University which has established a full-fledged training institute. The head of the training center is a highly reputable and well known personality with very extensive and rich experience. The Al - Kawthar Training institute supplements academic activity through various training programs for its students, faculty, and anyone from the outside world who wishes to hone their professional prowess.
